NORMA KAMALI LIGHTS UP NYFW
Feb 13 2026 - Greenwich Village
Norma Kamali has yet again pushed dramatic silhouettes and sharp contrast. From gradients and pin stripes to bold patterns, colors and FABRIC! This is a collection made for the stars.
Kamali, originally made famous by her playful take on oversized coats and timeless swimwear continuously shows why her brand is a global leader. At a time when many high fashion brands lean into minimalism, NK brings forward a sleek and playful futurism.
The mix of fitted waists and flared shoulders are reminiscent of French fashion houses along with the layered pattern. With most of the pieces featuring multiple collars and tightened midlines.
The reflective material showcased in about a quarter of the collection brought guests to a standstill. Many were surprised to see the innovation and used their cellphones to see the fabric hit light. In true NK fashion, the hooded top was in place as well as the scarfs that adorn many of her showstoppers. Pictured to the left you can see vloggers excited to capture the shine.
This playful fashion welcomes - or tricks paparazzi style flashes by absorbing much of the light. I look for these pieces to make for beautiful TMZ style video footage for some of the most glamorous women in Hollywood.
In my video content of the show, I mentioned that NK makes clothes for "bad girls", something that I stand by. You can't look at this mob boss outfit and not immediately think chic. The mixture of pinstripes and bright red creates high glamour. These are the outfits I want to see in music videos and fashion shoots.
This collection continued the use of clearly visible stitched fabric creating a look now synonymous with the brand - this can be seen in the ombré outfit below. Also notice the double wrapped belt completing the look.
Kamali continuously places a personal emphasis on womenswear that can make it in both in the streets and the red carpets. These are pieces that you would feel comfortable to wear to dinner, or to your finest evening out. The duality of this collection is a testament to the craft NK offers.
I look forward to the hooded leather jacket for my personal closet. I'm a self proclaimed Leatherboy, but only in my closet collection of fine jackets :)
Additionally, I think Cardi B would look fabulous in the leopard piece. Very much calling for someone with a beautiful figure to fill it out!
Great work to all involved,
Norma - you inspire me!
xoxo,
Scout
