NEW YORK — Recording artist Courtney Elle supported the Drisha Closet NYFW show at Sony Hall, bringing her pop act to the heart of Times Square.
Performing between segments of the international runway show, Elle shared her energy with the crowd, performing the Dave Audé remix of her new song, “Freedom.”
“The original already has such a fun vibe, and the remix really leans into that party feel,” Elle said.
The Dave Audé remix of “Freedom” has garnered more than 600,000 views on YouTube in two weeks, the highest of the artist’s growing discography.
Her performance outfit featured a black ruffled tulle skirt and cutout bustier, centered with a starfish embellishment. She paired it with a single black feather earring and matching patent heels.
“Looking back, I think I was chasing something elevated with a little sass, real ‘it-girl’ energy. I usually gravitate toward color, but this black dress stopped me in my tracks,” Elle said.
As for Sony Hall, the ornate gold trim and distinctive domed ceiling added to the ambience.
“Sony Hall is stunning, this incredible blend of old-school Broadway glamour and modern sophistication,” Elle said.
“I felt like a vintage Hollywood star sparkling in this old-world nightclub, truly a special feeling.”
With more than 50,000 monthly Spotify listeners, she’s quickly shown that dance-pop is her forte, as the numbers continue to grow following the release of her track “Juke.”
As for the song “Freedom,” Elle said, “It lives in that feeling of soaking up the sun, letting loose, and realizing you don’t need anyone else’s validation or company to feel whole.”
“When I sing it, I picture someone who’s complete on her own, just herself, good vibes, and sun on her face.”
It’s the type of beat that reminds people to have fun amid the craziness of the fashion shows.
“Beneath the rush, everyone’s genuinely inspired,” Elle said.
“People feed off the looks, off each other, off the creativity and energy in the room. It’s chaos in the best possible way.”
She ended the night sharing the same infectious joy that introduced me to her last NYFW!
